The light goes on in 1956. At the time, Louis Fillion, an electronics technician, was busily repairing residential TV sets. But he saw an opportunity in sales. Always close to grateful customers, he invited them to drop by ‘the showroom’ (his garage!) to get a first look at the latest TV models. Today, Fillion meets and greets customers in chic contemporary style at the downtown flagship centre on Sherbrooke Street with another site soon to open in Laval.
By 1973 (and still involved in sales and repairs) Louis Fillion opens his first ‘true’ store at the corner of Bossuet and Jumonville streets. Three years later, he hires his very first employee.
In 1978, the business moves one street East and the son of Louis, Bernard, joins the team. In 1981, this electronics specialist is much in demand with customers rapidly increasing and Fillion feels the crowd. So the store has to get bigger and sets up shop on Sherbrooke Street accordingly. In 1988, Sylvie Thibault joins the team. Today, Sylvie and Bernard, married in life and partners in business, continue to nurture the wise principles that inspired Louis when he created his company: to evolve in sync with emerging technologies, to understand what the customer actually wants and to offer the best possible service.
