While most brands of audio-video products are now offering their own versions of the iPod / iPhone dock, NAD decided to raise the bar and will soon launch its VISO 1! This module, with a great look that resembles a big capsule, is actually a powerful base for iPod and Bluetooth devices. This feature is clearly an advantage over the competition!

The VISO 1 is a product with an interesting design, incorporating Direct Digital Amplifier technology found in the NAD Master Series M2. The speakers are signed Paul Barton of PSB, expertise that guarantees accurate and dynamic sound quality. In addition, a digital processor controls equalizers for highly accurate adjustment of high, medium and low frequencies.

Especially for the bass, there is a microphone that detects the room response for these frequencies. Once the size of the room is estimated and obstacles are detected, the bass adjusts perfectly to the environment. In fact, this type of sensor is used more and more on the high-end devices.

Remember that you can link any Bluetooth device to a VISO 1, so you can enjoy it even if you don’t have an Apple device.

The price is $ 699 and the targeted audience is the same clientele that would be interested in the Zeppelin from Bowers & Wilkins.

Stay tuned for much more information about the launch of this new product!

Another base for the iPhone or iPod. This one is designed for devices made by NAD. The iPD 2 is thus an additional option for those wishing to connect their portable player to an audio system. The main strength of the iPD 2 is without a doubt its design, which will harmonize perfectly with the other NAD components in your multimedia center.

Unlike other iPod docks, the NAD is weighted, giving it a sense of superiority as far as the quality of workmanship. Its rubber base also makes it more stable.

The iPD 2 can be connected via the analogue or S-Video jacks to any receiver. However, actual owners of NAD equipment equipped with a Data Port will appreciate being able to control their iPod or iPhone using the remote control or directly from the receiver. In addition, again thanks to the Data Port, the information contained in multimedia files on the Apple player will appear on the receiver display.

However, quite oddly, the included remote can’t remotely control the volume on the iPod.

NAD enters the Blu-ray player market with the launch of the T-587, a Blu-ray player that’s compatible with BD-Live and BD-Java standards. The unit can of course support 1080p/24 resolution and is equipped with a converter that upscales lower resolution signals allowing them to be playable at high resolution. The unit also supports Deep Color and xvYCC Extended Color Space.

The T-587 is compatible with the most recent Dolby format as well as DTS. And has no problems reading DVDs or CDs.

The Ethernet connection allows you to connect to the Internet in order to download software updates for the T-587. In addition, the BD-Java standard promises to deliver certain kinds of interactive content by communicating with remote servers through the Internet connection, or by even allowing connections to other users of Blu-ray players.

You’ll also find connections for composite and component video output, an HDMI 1.3 port, analog audio and video outputs, as well as digital coaxial and optical outputs for audio.

A USB port is also conveniently located in the front of the unit.

The NAD T-587 will be available over the course of the month of December and the list price will be $1500 USD.

We recently talked about some of the possible alternatives for home theatre audio systems that are ideal for smaller spaces (link to the post). We present to you today THE best solution – I propose the 5.1 Kit B&W CM-1 + CM-C + PV-1, in conjunction with a unit that goes very well with this ensemble, the T775 receiver from NAD. This high-performance compact music and cinema ensemble will address the needs of even the biggest music lovers and connoisseurs of film on the planet. It features some of the best technology out there, as the speakers come from the same lineage as the Nautilus B&W series that floored critics when it first came out at the beginning of 2006. People were unanimously impressed by the sound quality of the CM-1, particularly considering its size.

These little speakers are just as good for listening to music as they are for watching movies. They offer high-fidelity sound quality. They work best when mounted on stands, but you can also mount them on the wall. And the design is exceptional. You can see by now that this audio system is truly a little gem. Offering high-performance and pleasing aesthetics, you won’t regret your investment (starting from $10,000), and your guests won’t either!
